![]() ![]() Great action, great visuals, and just tons of excitement overall. Patience.Īnyway, probably the best episode of Brotherhood so far. Just because BONES isn’t getting to the story now does not mean it will not in the future. They can approach it in a number of ways - framing it as a parallel event to this episode, or as a flashback, or whatever. There are some important things that come from the dropped plot element, so I don’t thing BONES is going to ignore it entirely. However, I think there is some sound reasoning for this: Namely, that, the extra action could have shot the pacing and taken away from the focus of this episode, which is Mustang killing the fuck out of Lust. There are some people around who are angry about a plot element involving the Xing characters being dropped from this episode. ![]() Maybe the only part of the episode that is, “D’aI’ll miss your comic relief, my man. I recognize your awesome this episode, Al. And Al gets a kickass mini-speech of his own before Mustang makes his hero’s entrance and is all, “Bitch, I’mma FUCK you up!” Protecting Riza is good enough for now, though. She pushes Mustang to the limit, too, and turns Riza into an emotional wreck, which is just going to harden her resolve from here on out. Poor Havoc is going to feel that for a LONG time. I’ll miss hearing Kikuko Inoue’s sexy villain voice every week, too. Your pseudo-run as head honcho of the Homunculi Plan was short-lived. It doesn’t kill her, but still, that is some GAR ass shit right there.īut, yes, RIP Lust. We also know that Trisha was killed by an illness and so was Lust, when she was a human. And then later he reaches RIGHT INTO LUST’S CHEST AND PULLS OUT HER PHILOSOPHER’S STONE. I recall in an episode in 2003, Lust goes to a town to teach a person how to cure a plague that was definitely released by the homunculi in an attempt for them to seek out the philosophers stone. Mustang’s thirst for revenge will take no prisoners. I love Lust, but she definitely had that shit coming. Mustang’s reaction is swift and immediate - a bullet straight to the kneecap. Lust sealed her fate when she admitted that she wished she could have finished off Hughes. He truly graduates from someone trying to claw his way to the top of the military bureaucracy to someone who will fuck up ANYONE who dares to mess with those close to him. I was already a 100 percent confirmed Mustang fanboy after catching up in the manga, but if I wasn’t, I totally would be now.Īs cool as Mustang’s plot to save Maria Ross is, this is his first real Crowning Moment of Awesome in the series. That is how you adapt a killer fight from manga to anime. The whole thing is just really graphic and gruesome, but in a cool way, and not in a Higurashi way that makes me want to sit in a dark closet for hours. Mustang fight is intense in the manga, but Brotherhood takes it to a whole new level of crazy with some wicked animation that reminds me of a fight that will take place a good while down the road. So, uh, how about that ROY F’N MUSTANG?! This Lust vs. At least I am starting the series when it is getting into the thick of the new material. ![]()
